I've been playing my collection of whistles and animal calls while I play my drums. I know It's common in samba, as well as other south and Central American music especially Mayan. I few months ago I saw the drummer of The Big Beat play some kind of low pitched whistle. He pulled it out of his pocket during a solo, then later he played it during the brass section(trumpet and sax) played the ending chords. I wish I knew what that whistle was, it looked like an acme brass whistle. Does anyone else play whistles when they drum?
