What's your latest purchase?

I just picked up one of these at a thrift store, partly to keep it away from indelicate attention, but mainly because the price was so absurdly low it would have been wrong to not buy it- in fact, when I relayed the price to my other half, I was told to get it. :)

Replaced my 12" O-Zone splash with this 10" and moved the 12" to a stack (barely visible on the right).

Beato Pro 1 bags arrived for the new Ludwig 110th Anniversary kits . I love the Pro 1 bags, waterproof , very durable and unlike most bags they will allow you to put your drums into them rather than putting your bag over the drums . The Beato Vombo bags are brilliant . In my case it is one bag to hold the 13” and the 16” floor Tom . There is a very thick removable divider in this long bag . It saves time let me tell you in load in and load out .

The Agop 20" traditional they have quite a few models available which one is in their order? :) Some of them would be glorious for jazz. I would think about 2002 for other kind of music, all this is very subjective.

Agop 20" traditional:
Traditional jazz ride
Traditional Dark ride
Traditional original ride
Traditional medium ride
Traditional Heavy ride
Traditional Flat ride
Traditional Crash ride
Traditional Thin crash
Traditional Medium crash
Traditional Heavy crash
Traditional Dark crash
Ben is playing the 20" Traditional (original) ride. Your thoughts on the 24 nearly pushed me over the cliff but I'll see what the agop 20 traditional/original has to say for itself when they arrive (shortly)

Picked them up yesterday. 18x14, 12x8, 14x14. Early 70s. Walnut. Exact color match to the 24/14/16/18 I got three years ago. Just got new coated over clear Ambassadors, coated ambassador kick batter, fiberskyn front, and Ludwig Atlas spurs since the guy couldn't find both of the originals. Fine by me, I have Atlas spurs on the 24, so I'm going to make this 18 match. It's getting pretty pornographic in my garage these days...

The toms have a roundover edge, but the bass drum has the modern inward-facing 30* edge. Sounds really super good.

Let's rock n roll...

Sweet. I had a buddy who had a Thing. He cut it down the middle, widened it by 2', put it on a shortened suburban frame and made a top for it. Not my cup of tea, but he knocks stuff like this out all the time and then sells it to start another project.

I was waiting for someone to post a VW. Not the thing I purchased, but a slick vehicle for sure.
I'm more of the beetle w an ej kinda guy ?

Not for nothing, but I have literally wanted a Thing on a 4x4 frame since I was a kid.

The price was too good, I couldn't say no.

This 1991 14x4 Jarrah Stave snare from Perth.

Very cool that they used a piece of Jarrah to fit the strainer and butt end.

He sends the original strainer one too. It needs a renewed locking pin.

These snares kick ass and the atrainer and butt can be reversed for us lefties.

Also I placed an order for the last ever made DW Drums Maple Mahogany shell (8x7) with Feathered Mahogany they could make, as mr. Good ran out of suppliers that together with some additional hardware.

Let the 6 month waiting game begin. Again ?

Nice set.

But...... that picture bothers me a bit. It seems like the tom mount is on the wrong end of the bass drum.
Either that or the spurs are.
Seems like I'd have a hard time getting it set up for me, but if it works for you, that's all that counts, right?

Gretsch put the tom mounts on the player's side of the kick drum up through the 1980s. Honestly, I really like it. It's easier to get to from the playing position, and shows more of the drum to the audience.

I've turned a few kicks around in my day to get the toms mount there for setup purposes.

Well, I finally received the 10” and 14” Tom’s to go with my brand new 2000 Yamaha Stage Custom kit. I packed up the Slingerlands and set it up as a 6 piece until I get the stand for the 10”. I still need a batter and reso head for the 14”. I have to say they sound great. A bit brighter than my Slingerlands. To be expected from birch versus poplar and mahogany. I’m looking forward to really getting to know them and feel comfortable playing them. Here’s my first pic of them in their new home.
