What's your latest purchase?

“The R88 mk2 is optimized for recording instruments and ensembles in stereo. The R88 uses the large ribbon configuration of the classic RCA 44 series mics, which gives the mic solid 20Hz bass response and a smooth high end which is flattering to complex tones.”

20Hz! Do your kits sound like you’re playing a 28” bass drum? ;)

Oopsie! I accidentally omitted an item from the set of estate sale purchase posts that begin here. I was purposely sandbagging but I forgot to post it last.

Seen better in person than in the pics: what appears to be newspaper visible through the reso head.

Yes they are great!!! and i like them because i love "bright" cymbals. Here in Italy Ufip, Meinl and Zildjian are easy to find and i live near one of the biggest drum shop in Italy and they are Meinl and Zildjian dealer but in my country Paiste cymbals are hard to try!!!
Hi! I would be visiting Italy soon and would like to hear/test some UFIP cymbals if i get the time. Could you recommend a shop where these would be available? Planning to visit Rome, Florence and Milan.

Thanks in advance

IMG_9164.jpegIMG_9165.jpegAaaaw man!!!! I swore I was done with buying kits and then this ridiculous deal was sent to me today by a friend.

A studio in town had bought a ton of kit just pre-Covid because they wanted to do a kind of "Drummer's spa" type of business where you can come and pay by the hour to play on about 50 hi-end kits wether it's for practice, curiosity or to do comparisons before buying.

Anyhoo Covid happened as they were trying to get this thing off the ground and they never quite recovered. This kit has sat virtually unplayed in its orig boxes up till now as they are starting to unload a bit of stuff.

USAC Gold sparkle 14x22 - 8x12- 16x16
A bucket list kit for me.

Unidentified brushes:

I'm pretty sure those are old Ludwig brushes, 70's era. I used to have a pair.

Ok, educate me, please. That looks like an acrolite with imperial lugs as opposed to the standard bowtie lugs. Were they replaced?
10 lugs, so likely a Supra. It's just dull with a lot of chrome flaking.
