“The R88 mk2 is optimized for recording instruments and ensembles in stereo. The R88 uses the large ribbon configuration of the classic RCA 44 series mics, which gives the mic solid 20Hz bass response and a smooth high end which is flattering to complex tones.”
Hi! I would be visiting Italy soon and would like to hear/test some UFIP cymbals if i get the time. Could you recommend a shop where these would be available? Planning to visit Rome, Florence and Milan.Yes they are great!!! and i like them because i love "bright" cymbals. Here in Italy Ufip, Meinl and Zildjian are easy to find and i live near one of the biggest drum shop in Italy and they are Meinl and Zildjian dealer but in my country Paiste cymbals are hard to try!!!
Looks like that thing weighs quite a bit? Might need a fairly substantial mic stand for overhead placement!
I'm pretty sure those are old Ludwig brushes, 70's era. I used to have a pair.Unidentified brushes:
That drum finish is beautiful!New logo heads for our upcoming release concert next week. A bit basic maybe but at least quite visible on stage.
Ok, educate me, please. That looks like an acrolite with imperial lugs as opposed to the standard bowtie lugs. Were they replaced?Oopsie! I accidentally omitted an item from the set of estate sale purchase posts that begin here. I was purposely sandbagging but I forgot to post it last.
So I just picked up this little pumpkin in time for Halloween... 1969 Ludwig Standard in Gold Mist sparkle.

Well, it looked like Gold Mist until I started cleaning it - it looks like it was born a Silver Mist...

10 lugs, so likely a Supra. It's just dull with a lot of chrome flaking.Ok, educate me, please. That looks like an acrolite with imperial lugs as opposed to the standard bowtie lugs. Were they replaced?
I remember those. Lol.I'm pretty sure those are old Ludwig brushes, 70's era. I used to have a pair.

I’m using it in a rock band. I changed the head from the thin Diplomat Fiberskyn to an Emperor X. It sounds good and sits well with the Cherry Bomb’s stock Ambassador X heads. Are you using this for jazz? How has it worked out?
I like the half-tone grey newsprint kind of montage in the background. I've done old school graphic arts involving the cut and paste of typefaces and really like the presentation of the band name, the Hey DayCustom 18" BD head from Vintage Logos.
