Kool Kit!!! How often do you play?

Drummer_D
Thank you I normally play once or twice a month.. I don't use those drums though they stay-at-home as my practice kit but but now that I have smaller Tom's I might take them out with the band more especially when I fill in for another band.

I practice often almost everyday or every other day and I can spend hours playing. I don't know if you read any of my other threads but I recently had an accident an cut my hand and finger pretty deep washing a glass and had to have five stitches so I was bummed out because I couldn't drum for 10 days. The very next day after the stitches came out I was playing but not for long because my hand started to hurt but just days later I was drumming for almost 4 hours.

Ouch I've been there before. Take it a little at a time

I finally replaced all the memory-lock-less legs of four of my Yamaha floor toms with these way-cool Pearl offerings. This qualified as one of those "Why the !@#$ did I wait so long to do this?" experiences. Yamaha, I didn’t want to have to stray, but you left me no choice.🤷‍♂️

Where are you from? I'm from Worcester, MA 40 miles west of Boston

I have done exactly the same with my RC's :)

Well a bit too late to comment on this hehe, but Pearl also sells those memory locks for the FT legs separately so you don't need to get a new set of FT legs. Or do they not fit on the Yamaha FT legs?

Years back i got 6 for my Pearl Vision kit which also not came with those memory locks. Huge time saver!

The other day after perusing CL I found an ad listing several things I've been on the look out for awhile. Texted the dude and he still had 'em, ran over on my lunch hour and snagged them all for a song. Super excited about it!

Right, I tried the Pearl memory locks and no, they don’t fit Yamaha FT legs. They’re too small. My mistake was assuming and concluding the Pearl legs would also be too small for the Yamaha FT brackets.

I’m actually kind of embarrassed I didn’t think of trying them sooner. I’ve used sharpie markings, hose clamps, gaffer tape, etc., none of which proved reliable and practical, especially on dark and/or uneven stages. It’s interesting how assumptions can so easily obscure possibilities and solutions. In any case, my floor toms and I are now on much better terms. 😊

Tomorrow I'm picking up this bass drum...

Pearl Export Kit--Ocean Blue--4.jpg

...because it's a more manageable 14" x 20" and it's a dead nuts match to my shell kit what I got almost 3 weeks ago...

DDrum Kit Front.JPG

I shall call the new bass drum "Stun, Jr." Together, the three of us shall dominate low budget gigs all across central Florida's smallest cities with adequate low end for the job and borderline good pedalwork.

PS: Before you go all OCD for saying they're not a dead nuts match, what goes together better than red, white, blue, black and chrome? Oh, and a natural wood snare to remind people you're down to earth where it counts, too?

After 25 years of fine service I’ve finally replaced my main Pearl Hi Hat stand with this.

Hoping to get 25 years service out of it too.

(My girl was quite taken with its box)

Really sturdy in general and under the foot.

Gets a couple outings this week at rehearsals and then a gig so it'll be properly bedded in soon!

Glad you scored one that comes with a free box.

Don’t forget to feed your dogs.

Haha, believe me the dogs don't let me forget to feed them.

I picked this up for free from a friend. Gonna give it a go as a kick Mic
