Needed these like I need a hole in my head. Did a trade for some high-end snare drums I wasn’t using. All drums date-stamped April 20, 1995. Not dead mint, but easily a 9.9/10. All trad depths as well.

Green drums with a date of 4/20? That's not a coincidence at all!

What's with the black clamps on the suspension mounts? Was that the norm for DW 25 years ago?

Green drums, made on 4/20? You have to keep those. :D

Wow, I feel pretty sheepish not putting the 4/20 green finish together. Those edibles must’ve kicked a little harder than I expected! :)

The black hardware is age appropriate. Floor tom brackets and the bass drum cymbal arm bracket are all black as well. Looked in the 1996 catalog (couldn’t find ‘95) to verify.

Just picked up this Noble and Cooley 5” Sassafras wood snare drum . It include four bottles of N&C root beer . This is my second Sassafras snare . I have an 8” from Summit Drums as well . I really like Sassafras - the wood smells like root beer ! The sound of the drum is very similar to maple but just a tad warmer . N&C made only 3 of each size of these Sassafras snares . So it is extremely limited .

Noticed those on the N&C FB group..........how does it sound? Looks outstanding. Nicely chosen.

Just arrived...

A Gretsch GS1-THSL single tom holder for my Renown kit. I've been experimenting with a 1-up 1-down configuration lately and I LOVE it. Right now the 12" tom is mounted on a snare stand. This new holder will take its place. Makes use of the drilled bass, looks great and provides an accessory hole for a cymbal arm. Perfect!

I got my new RN2 about the same time you got yours.

I didn't know about the GS1-THSL. This is now a must-have.

Thanks for the head's up post!

I didn't know that it could be purchased separately either but I'm mighty happy that it could. Keeps the look of the kit consistent and provides that oh-so useful accessory hole for a cymbal arm.

And new to me a 4x14 DW Collector's maple snare in Green Glass Glitter to match my kit. And yes, I know my kit is dusty. I'll be doing a good spring cleaning on it in the near future.

Also picked up a Paiste Twenty series ride with 5 factory rivet holes. I'll be experimenting with rivets over the next week.

Not a purchase per se.........finished up a nice 6ply cherry shell over the course of the week. 8 exterior coats, one interior and then measured, drilled and assembled this morning.

Waiting on a new batter head to come in before I tune it up and play it. This will compliment the 6" Maple ply and 7" Walnut stave snares I also built up.......

More of an update to my latest purchase.
The ride I purchased a short while back was pretty nasty. It went beyond "patina" well into the "funk" stage. Not my thing.
I cleaned it which removed the labeling on the top side. I happened to like the understated Signature logo and felt somewhat bad for removing it, which is weird because normally I want it off of there. So, after polishing it, I put the logo back on.

After cleaning:

They'll come off the next time I clean it, but that'll be a few years from now. I'll probably keep them off after that, but figured I'd give it a try as I've never done this before (or even considered it).
