What's your favorite song(s) to play?

Steely Dan- Pearl of the Quarter
Linda Ronstadt- Mohammed's Radio
Movin out Soundtrack- Scenes from an Italian Restaurant
Boston - More Than a Feeling
Black Crowes - Thorn In My Pride
Red Hot Chili Peppers- Otherside
Eagles - Pretty Maids All In a Row (Live)

All fun to play with interesting Grooves, Rimshots, Ghost Notes. But not insanely Hard either.

For me, it will always be Marvin Gaye's "Let's Get it On" which Paul Humphrey riddles with sublime ghost notes and exquisite fills.

Others on the list:
Pixies: La La Love You
Rolling Stones: Monkey Man

Hmm... Out of the covers we do:

Helloween - Ride The Sky
Annihilator - Alison Hell (I would love to do The Fun Palace, something I'm eagerly trying to push into our set)
Sodom - Agent Orange

A couple I really love to play but that we don't play in the band (have played them in other bands in the past):
Testament - Disciples Of The Watch
Metallica - Disposable Heroes
Opeth - Deliverance

But mostly today we do our own songs.

"Woman Across the River" - Freddy King - Allman Brothers version
I really dig songs that go from straight time to shuffle time then back again
Oteil Burbridge, listen to his bass lines.

Right now, 'War Pigs' by Black Sabbath, only because I'm learning it for Trinity Grade 8. Nowhere to hide with this one, it certainly uses every drum and cymbal on the kit, relentlessly!
