What's your Drummerworld number?

I'm adding the following Guitar Center Drumoff appearances to my list:
Keith Carlock - Club Nokia in Los Angeles 2013
John Blackwell - Club Nokia in Los Angeles 2013
Gerald Heyward - Club Nokia in Los Angeles 2013
Terry Bozzio - Club Nokia in Los Angeles 2012
Aaron Spears - Club Nokia in Los Angeles 2012
Ilan Rubin - Club Nokia in Los Angeles 2012
Mike Portnoy - Club Nokia in Los Angeles 2012

That puts me at 32.
I was at that GC Drum Off Finals with Keith Carlock playing with the Wayne Krantz Trio! I guess that means I also saw John Blackwell and Gerald Heyward perform, since that was the same show. Totally forgot about that!

That's 2 more I can add to my list.

I know he's not on the list but he's mentioned on this website more than many who are. So that suggests he's at least got an honorary spot on the list even though he doesn't want to be on it. I much preferred his Zappa, Missing Persons, UK, Brecker Brothers playing over what he's doing now anyway. Buddy Williams isn't on the list either and I have him on mine. They guy is on so many great albums. Lonnie Liston Smith, Michael Jackson. And to think he was playing at a local bar/restaurant in the suburbs of NJ about 30 mintues outside of Manhattan. I didn't even know he was playing but I met a friend for a drink, heard a band playing as I walked from the car to the door and said "That drummer sounds GOOOOD!". Spent the rest of the night in a half empty bar and got to meet him. A friendly but quiet guy.
Still gotta ding you for it. Not on the list means it doesn't count! And now you've fessed up to another ding in Buddy Williams. Shame, shame!

On a more serious note, I totally agree with you on Bozzio. I'm not at all into his solo "semi-orchestral-percussion-behind-a-monster-kit" work, but his work with Zappa and Missing Persons was first rate.

In fact, I skipped the 2012 Guitar Center Drum Off Finals because Terry Bozzio was the featured performer that night. Meh!

2 guys who I sort of can't believe are not on the list, (and 2 of my biggest influences)

Clive Burr - 1982
John Pannozzo - 1982
Totally agree with you about Clive Burr. LOVE those early Iron Maiden albums! I also remember videotaping an early Iron Maiden concert off MTV (remember when they were about music?). I must have worn that VHS tape out watching it over and over.

John Pannozzo was also great. In fact, my very first concert was seeing him with Styx on the Kilroy Was Here tour. Which kinda messed me up for concerts, because that was my first one and it was more more of a theatrical production, so I was thinking "so THIS is what concerts are like???" Of course, that was definitely NOT how concerts were like :)

Mine is embarrassingly low. Not many big drummers come through my neck of the woods.

1. Tre Cool, my first ever concert was Green Day at Nottingham Ice Stadium.
2. Vinnie Colaiuta, with Jeff Beck and Royal Concert Hall, Nottingham
3. Virgil Donati, we hosted him for a clinic and I had a few private lessons with him
4. Dom Famularo, MusikMesse, Frankfurt
5. Mark Guiliana, Manchester Hole in the Wall, with Mark Juliana Jazz Quartet
6. Claus Hessler, we hosted him for a clinic in Nottingham
7. Thomas Lang, we hosted him for a clinic in Nottingham
8. Rick Latham, MusikMesse, Frankfurt
9. Nicko McBrain, Nottingham Ice Stadium
10. Zigaboo, New Orleans Jazz Fest
11. Stanton Moore, we hosted him for a clinic in Nottingham
12. Ash Soan, London clinic
13. Billy Ward, London clinic
14. Dave Weckl, Ronnie Scotts w/ Mike Stern

Think that's it...

I had a chance to see both Mark Guiliana and Stanton Moore at the Portland Jazz Fest this year, but chickened out due to the coronavirus.

BTW, Zigaboo is not on the list.

EDIT: I stand corrected. Zigaboo IS on the list (as Joseph Modeliste).

You've seen several that I wish I had been able to see, most notably Alex Acuna, N'dugu (love his stuff with George Duke), Aynsly Dunbar (loved his playing with Zappa) and Omar Hakim.

interesting story about the N'Dugu show. It was a clinic at the Bands Of America Summer Symposium, and after the clinic, me N'Dugu, Johnny Lee Lane, Jim Campbell, Steve Houghton and a bunch of the other directors were all talking, and N'Dugu and Johnny both got the call about Micheal Jackson dying...hours before it made the news. I just remember N'Dugu pulling the phone down from his ear slowly, and he goes "Micheal's dead...." Both of them bolted to the main office area and were gone on a plane that night. The next day, it was all over the news...that was surreal...

the Jackson 5 were the very first live concert I ever saw, in 1974...I was 5....it hit me hard too b/c that was some of the first stuff that I played along to on drum set

That puts me at 32.

I was at that show too!

I don't recall Aron Spears. Or else I'd be up to 99. Did he go on early? I know I got there partway into the show.

So as of now, the Top 5 Drummerworld members who've seen the Top 500 Drummerworld Drummers are as follows:

5th place: MntnMan62 (34 drummers seen)
4th place: mikyok (43 drummers)
3rd place: Xstr8edgtnrdrmrX (49 drummers)
2nd place: TK-421 (me!) (81 drummers)

And the winner (as of now)....
DrumEatDrum with 98 drummers! (yay!)

That's downright impressive. ?

I'm going by YouTube proof here, although who's to say I wasn't taking a bathroom break during his show. There should probably be a new rule for this challenge that says you had to have gone to the event to see the specific drummer OR the drummer made a surprise appearance and you recognized him or her (or were impressed enough to later look up their name).

I assume you were there ’cuz of a woman. ?

Guilty as charged, at least he could sing in tune in 2003.

My wife saw them in Dublin last year and it was painful from the vids I've seen.
