My vote is Molecules drums.

oh yeah...i forgot about Molecule drums.....

how do the heads on those even tension up, let alone in tune?

I saw Susie Quatro and Alice Cooper in 1975 and Alice's drummer had his kick drums facing up with the beaters swinging upward. I couldn't find any pictures on the net of this. At the time I thought it was cool. Not much now.
