What are you listening to right now?

After Hangin' Around, the U-Tub cued up another gift from EWG. Here's Keep Playin' That Rock and Roll. Four musical monsters doing just that!

(edit) Sorry - funky link, but it seems to work if you click "Watch on YouTube."

Another gem on brain radio from the 1970s off an album that anybody under 40 years old needs to hear. From the Edgar Winter Group's They Only Come Out at Night album is Hangin' Around.

Edgar on keys, timbales, marimba sax and lead vocals.
Dan "I can dream about you" Hartman on bass
Creator of one of the greatest rock albums ever, Ronnie Montrose on guitar
Last but not least, The King of 1970's drum solos, Chuck Ruff on drums.

Helluva line up. Good song, too.

"Why yes, that is a seven-string bass."
"Why yes, this is my scaled down drum kit."
Great stuff !!!

9 folks on stage? I guess nobody told Chaka that that it was supposed to be a Tiny Desk Concert. :ROFLMAO: I didn't know that Tell Me Something Good was written by Stevland Morris. Makes sense, but it sure can't hurt having Rufus and Chaka Khan pumping out your music!

Thanks for a funky start to the day, @jda, but June 15th started out as a July Morning. Here's Uriah Heep! I don't understand why more folks didn't "get it" back then. Those 5 guys crammed a lot of sound into their music and I never would have criticized Lee Kerslake or Gary Thain for being too busy and not playing for the song.

She's so good -- watched it twice... Not easy getting a good balance with acoustic drums in such a small setup.

The last track seemed to have a backing track, but nobody has cans on, how did they do that??
