I don't think that they'd really go anywhere. By today's standards they look anemic. This is one of the reasons I love Tama. They came to be know for rock solid and innovative hardware. I don't miss the dumb curved spurs that were on either of my old Ludwig Bonham kits. I have an Artstar and a Granstar kit with spur tech that I came to expect on anything that I own.

Having said that, I might suggest just making a drum rug with a little section of 2x4 just in front of the bass drum. Then you don't have to alter such a beautiful old classic.
