Vintage Slingerland 4 piece i got for free. Id like to know what kind of value they have.

They're 1950s Slingerlands, for sure, probably 1957-60. I can tell by some of the the hardware, which looks like nickel. That's a calf head on the rack tom, and the bass drum batter head looks like calf also. They appear to be all original, just in need of a good cleaning. I'd advise you to take the heads off the drums and see if there are dates inside the shells. The shells can be cleaned with Novus polish, available on Amazon. You can use any chrome or metal cleaner on the hardware. I use Brasso. If you want to really deep clean the drums, take all the hardware off and clean the shells and hardware separately, then re-assemble.

Are you keeping them, or do you plan on selling the drums?

You can go to www.vintagedrumforum for more detailed info on Slingerland drums.

As far as value, Slingerland drums are not hot sellers right now, but these things go in cycles, so values could increase. If you clean the drums well, fix any issues that might exist, and keep the calf heads, you might get some decent money. Check sale prices on Ebay, Reverb, and Facebook Marketplace to see what drums like this are selling for. Like I said, Slingerland drums are not exactly flying out people's doors these days for big money. Don't expect a windfall. I've seen Slingerland sets sitting for sale online for months and sometimes, longer. I check every day. Some guy in Rhode Island wants stupid money for a Yellow Tiger set; Another character in PA wants four times what another Slingerland set is worth. The drums have been for sale for at least two years. They're probably fishing for a sucker.

Clean them up, price them right, and they'll sell. Of course, if you keep them, that's even better.

I would see what Steve Maxwell is selling them for. Or go to eBay and do a search for what you’re looking for, do an advanced search of what their completed auctions ended at, and see what others have paid.

I'd ballpark the value at around $800. Like BobC stated, Slingerland kits aren't really ace sellers. They generally sell below Gretsch, Rogers & Ludwig drums.

Sold for 500$ thank you. Until then I have had a 500 $ of doing nothing.

Yup, I'd clean them up and hang onto them for a bit to see if they go up in value. The thing about vintage drums is that I'm pretty sure most of them aren't going down in value.

I'd say you did well at $500 since you got them for free.

Got free drums, made membership to find out value, sold them on our internal marketplace, and..... We'll never see them again lol
My thoughts exactly. We'll never hear from this character again.

I wish someone would give me a free drumset like that.
