(strange how i always thought of myself as a sabian guy, but now my jazz setup is all zildjian... didn't even plan it that way. Buy what sounds good, right?

Audio was recorded with my Zoom H2 pointed at the mains and then mixed down in Cubase SE.

The way this festival works is the groups are put together beforehand and then given 2 days to rehearse together. So what you see is the result of less than 24 hours of rehearsal. Definitely a challenge every year, but brings out the "professional" in everyone. Especially the big band. Speaking of the big band... I'm not the drummer in that group but if anyone wants to see that footage, I can post it as well. The drummer is outstanding!

Great job!! I'm not really into jazz, but I was groovin right along the whole time. I was really impressed with the way your drums sound. Most jazz I have listened to, the drums are rather dry sounding, but your drums, even though they are tuned up, have a lot of tone and a nice round sound to them. The kick has a lot of bottom to it and the snare is fat. The whole group meshes well together. Nice job!
