Triggers for Drums with Wooden Hoops?

I’m wanting to add triggers to my Ayotte kit – make a hybrid kit with them and my Roland SPD-SX module. I was told that the Roland triggers would not work on drums with wooden hoops? Does anyone have experience with this? Any advice?

You could try to get some Yamaha DT-20 sticky triggers that are still offered at some outlet.

Cool, thanks! Never heard of those. I wonder if they'll work with a Roland module?

Modules don't really care who makes the trigger. You should be able to find a "trigger type" setting in the module that works for you. I use Ddrum triggers with my TM-2 without issues.
