Tom angles!!!!

Check this one closely. Not only do we have innovative tom angles, but buddy’s got his Rims-mounted toms upside down!
That's funny, back in the RMMP days I remember guys arguing that hanging it upside down was more beneficial =)

But the truth is, though most people on earth love music, not everyone gets to see drum sets. And even if they do, if they aren't interested in drums or see them often enough they might only 'see' them but not 'look' at them. So people often just imagine a drum set as drums lined up in front of the drummer, and cymbals stuck up in random places, and a guy's head back there. Similar to how if someone who doesn't play drums sits down at a kit and they basically just single stroke as fast as they can randomly on everything thinking that's what drummers do. Growing up I'd seen drummers on TV and stuff, but I don't think I ever knew anything specific about how they were set up until I got my drums and started reading magazines/catalogs, learning about the bands I liked. If you only see a drum set every once in a while, you're going to set them up what you imagine what they look like. Thus, an art form is created. =)

Tom Angle and Positioning [Part 11 of 31]
by Travis Whitmore on 07/11/2011

"If your toms are angled too much, consider a set up change. Believe it or not, the way you mount your toms will make a huge difference in the sound.
Flatter toms will not only sound better, they’ll help you play better and your heads will last longer.
One way to determine if it’s time for an angle adjustment with your set up is take a look at the front of your kit. If it resembles Mickey Mouse in any way, it’s time for a change!"

Hey, no making fun of Nikko! He can have his drums however he wants! He is a god, our mere mortal rules of drum ergonomics do not apply to him.
