I absolutely love the idea of one of these, but I think if I can't get into a place with this set-up, I shouldn't really even be there.

Well said. For small stages like this, it's perfect. 16-18" kick, 10-12" snare & a 12-13" "floor tom" and the world is your oyster.

The whole idea of a cocktail kit is to use as little real estate as possible. This kit isn't that much more and anyone who has played standing up will attest that it's really not the ideal playing position.

I always found a certain extra energy by being able to stand with the other musicians in the group - but yes... gotta keep moving!
Another option is a super shallow kick, like a Stage Custom Hip?
