The 2024 UK Drum Show megathread!

Couldn't you have noted all the appearing drummers in one listing, instead of creating eight? Seems like a waste of effort to me, but whatever.

Good afternoon Bob,

Thank you for your message, we could have done it all in one post, but this is personally a format we prefer 😊

I see 12 over two days on one main stage page:

loverly 😁
Keith will smoke it'.

Keith is someone that not only inspires me drumistically but when I listen to him speak I'm just as inspired to be better at the craft. I try to steal a part of his soul to be a better me if that makes sence. I dig Keith as much today as I ever did.

I was at the UK drum many moons ago (over ten years), great event as always. Was there with my daughter, we were at a workshop in one of the larger rooms and it was standing room only. My daughter felt something brush her shoulder, followed by a large thud sound. Turned around and a large ceiling tile with a lighting transformer attached had buried itself in the mixing desk behind her! The, quite heavy, transformer was sitting like an immovable monolith out of the desk, but the desk was still working (although the engineer couldn't make any adjustments). Fun times!

sounds like it was one of the older shows (london drum show, or drumfest, or something) as the UK drum shows only been going since 2017 :)

BUT

its lucky that it didnt hit your daughter or you or anyone else!! <3

And a single merged thread consolidating all of your posts on the same subject is a format we prefer. 😊
Happy to be of assistance.

London drum show I do believe. And yep, in the middle of a crowded room the tile chose the only spot to come down where no one was standing. Goes to show how death-defying drumming can be!
Amusingly, the show was on the first floor and downstairs was a 'baby' show with lots of bemused parents wandering around wondering what all the noise was about.

I was kind of surprised Protection Racket wasn't listed along with the other exhibitors-being a U.K. company. I hope their business is still in good condition.

I’d have love to have come this year to check out IEM custom fittings and a show purchase, however with a newborn I’ll plan for a 2025 attendance instead.

Hope it goes well!!

i'll be posting a load of pics on here from the show, i believe the only two exhibitors of moulded IEMs are mercury audio and ACS.

but if you want IEM fittings, look into the custom IEM company, or cosmic ears :)

Good morning Thomas,

How would we post in the thread, as the only option available I can see is to reply to comments?

Many thanks 😊

Hello UK Drum Show Event Organizer,

While I'm not Thomas, and would never presume to speak for him, I will try to answer your question about posting to an existing thread like this one.

First, you can answer someone with a reply while also quoting them. Just like I did with your latest post here, or the way you did Thomas' post to you, by selecting the blue "Reply" icon located at the bottom right hand corner of each individual's post. I think that you have already figured that part out.

Second, if you just want to post some new info about the show itself, just go to the very bottom of the thread's page. There you will find an empty box with your avatar's image located on the left hand side (shown on a desktop computer/not shown on a mobile phone), and the message "Write your reply...". In that empty box, simply add your new post (including any videos & text). When finished, simply select the blue "Post reply" button/icon, and add your new post to the existing thread.

The second option is what I believe you were enquiring about. Hopefully, I've been able to sufficiently answer your question.

I hope that you have a wonderful drum show later this month, and I wish you all the best. 🥁 :)
