Teachers in Maryland?

I live in Howard County Maryland, Ellicott City.

I want a drum teacher that is not a generic store teacher but someone who takes the time and appreciates and understands music. I play metal mostly, but LOVE funk/jazz/rock/blues (basically everything.) I want a teacher who is very versatile and can teach everything including rudiments, fills, theory, EVERYTHING ;-)

If any of you know any guys let me know!

My suggestion - Take one lesson off of each of them - then make your decision.

I do know of Bills, but every time I have gone in there the people have been way less than helpful, so I haven't gone back in awhile.

YOUR EXACTLY RIGHT!! I was just in there the other day to buy some clear sonic stuff and drop $300 walked around the store for about an hour and a half and no one asked if I needed help. Its that way everytime I go into that store.

When I was at Loyola, Barry Dove was my instructor. He's unbelievable, and a member of the Global Percussion Trio. Check him out HERE

Yes! I strongly suggest Grant Menafee, also. He's been teaching in the Baltimore/DC area for many many years. I know, since the 80's, 'cause a few of my friends took lessons from him back then and said he was really a good teacher.

Good Luck finding one!

LOL! Sounds like Guitar Center! Better yet it's better off if people don't help where I go. Like when I inquired about getting a 10 inch tom to go with the Gretsch jazz club set. He said it wasn't offered! You really know your inventory, have you looked at the Gretsch website?
