Tambourine on hi hat rotating

Got a half one above the hihat that keeps turning. Obviously the hi hat needs to go up and down but can I stop if going round?
Thanks

A ching ring (by various names) mounts to the rod and will not rotate unless the mount is loose.

Mine mounts on the rod ok, but the rod rotates….as I guess it has to as it also moves up and down..

Ah! The rod is actually two sections and the upper section threads into the lower section. Simple finger-tighten the upper rod and it will [should] tighten up and stop rotating.

The Ching rings don’t get you that muted hi hat sound with a touch of tambourine. Big difference sonically between these two.
