Well... american companies also get parts and raw materials from overseas. Screws, lugs, metal tubes, copper, rubber.... *shrugs*

Sure, but not out of necessity. That was a choice they made, and now they aren't able to meet the demand for their product, even if you live down the street from their headquarters.
