Inspired by the thread on women drummers, Son of Vistalite Black would like to know about your favorite drummers from the land of Husqvarna, Ikea, meatballs, a noted Chef and the great Ari Aster film "Midsommar."

SoVB's faves include:

Jocke Wallgren --Amon Amarth

Mikkey Dee -- Scorpions, Motorhead

Tomas Haake -- Meshuggah (SoVB caught his drumstick in 2019)

Josephine Forsman -- Sahara Hotnights

Ola Brunkert (RIP) – ABBA

Emlee Johansson -- Thundermother

some of my faves

John Alfresson - Avatar

Daniel Svensson - In Flames (the "originators" of the Goethenberg Sound IMO

Lars Szoke - Hypocrisy

Peter Stjarnvind - Entombed/Nihilist

and then the hardcore guys;

John-Louis Huhta - Anti Cimex

Frank Johansen - Wolfbrigade

Oskar Karlssen - Raised Fist

Andy Anarchy - DS-13

Martin Axenrot (ex-Opeth, Bloodbath) did a pretty good job replacing one of the best drummers I had the pleasure of seeing live up until then, Martin Lopez. His work on Watershed especially still gives me goosebumps to this day.

Great call on Ola Brunkert with Abba.

Drummer Roger Palm also played sessions with the band, notably on Dancing Queen, 1976. (That's also Palm on Mamma Mia, Take a Chance on Me and Thank You for the Music.)

If you listen between the two clips, you can hear the rhythmic influence he brought to Dancing Queen from a favorite album of his at the time -- Gumbo by Dr John, from 1972.
