I'm afraid you won't find my answers very satisfactory. Questions are way too broad to give any kind of good answer in a reasonable amount of time.

Yeah, those are some vague questions.

It's some very broad strokes - but in equally broad strokes, my answer to the question of how much does the elements and techniques of jazz drumming influence modern drumming was.... totally.

The drum set is literally an instrument born of jazz - everything we do - in every style and genre - is a direct outgrowth of how and what the early jazz drummers played.

I agree, the questions are too vague. You should get specific about what types of jazz are influential. Jazz is a big spectrum of styles and sounds.

If it's Bop or fusion, it is influential to a degree. If it's 1940's big band or small group swing, the influence is probably non-existent.

Yeah, I figured. It's all good, no offence taken.

I'm using this for my project and after seeing the results, I'm probably just going to stick to an interview from a drummer friend of mine
