I listen to a fair amount of straight ahead, 30's - 2000's, probably as much or more than my backbeat playing peers.

I suppose I'm a control freak or too addicted to melody or repetition but i can only listen to about 16 bars of free jazz before i want to shoot myself in the head.

Oh, don't be hard on yourself for knowing what you like

Like many musicians working in niche genres, Sunny is likely to remain relatively obscure. You can't do something challenging and be surprised when people are challenged by it. That said, the music persists and inspires to this day, in my experience.
