Great deal for what it is.
I have no interest in it, but ya - it'd be a good beginner kit, a good kit for youngsters,
a good x-mas gift, a good deal for anyone who's looking for a real small kit.
and a good kit for someone who's looking for a refinish project (if they don't like the looks). :ROFLMAO:

Wow. It just went all the way back up to $499 overnight. A one day deal for sure. I am glad I got one even if it's just for fun. I am probably going to set it up a buddy's house that we jam at now and then. I would ever have to lug a normal set over there again.....maybe just cymbals.

Unboxed and put them together. I haven't played them yet but I will put them in my jam room and get some cymbals by them tomorrow.

Ok. All finished. I used the Tune Bot and tuned them up all nicely. Its a pretty fun set to play. Now if I leave these at a friend's house that I jam at, it won't take up too much space at his house and I won't be worried that people are scratching it up. I am definitely not going to use this many cymbals over there. I probably don't need the same number of splashes that I have toms.

I've been curious, do these kits include a "duck foot" style bass drum riser that attaches with a tom mount bracket underneath like the DJ NY kit they offer or does it include the typical cheap rose that clamps onto the bass drum hoop like the ludwig breakbeats? If it is the typical PDP duck foot style, does it also have a notched bass drum hoop?

Interesting little kit! I like that deep kick. But who knew the Aquabats were that well known? Not me.

Good find, thank you!

I have a lot of experience that exact riser from my old DJ NY kit. I'm very torn on it. It's a solid riser that far out performs the type the clamp onto the hoop and the notch cutout in the hoop allows the beater to strike at the proper angle without the chain rubbing the hoop. However, overall I'm not a huge fan of risers and even on my 16s I like them to sit flat on the ground which the mount and notch prevent.

They look like kids' pajamas.

But hey, $200 is a steal for a PDP Micro kit. That is essentially a Breakbeats kit, but with better hardware, and for a fraction of the price!
Exactly.
I'm not a fan of the 16" kick though. I had one that I just could never get to sound right without a mic & some mixing. Even 18's elude me.
