Stones' New Video, "Angry"

Is there a low maintenance Diva? Maybe somebody's Mother sitting in the back seat would have been more visually stimulating.

I think it'll be another classic Stones tune.

And... Either show the gal in the car or the billboards or the band. I liked the "good old days" when a single TV commercial lasted one whole minute - at least you knew what they were advertising. Apparently, the advert agencies (and music video production crews) think we all have an attention span shorter than a gnat's inseam.

My takeaway on the video? That's a lot of driving with no stoplights; I didn't see a single billboard for ambulance chasing attorneys.

I hate the quick-cut stuff, too. I think kids’ programs (eg., the muppets) are responsible for its genesis. Keep those dopamines flowing!

When done well, The ultra-long takes are my favorite. Pulp Fiction has a good one. And the extraction sequence in Extraction 2 is a great 10-minute, single cut, cliff-hanger.

Sometime way, way, way, way, way back back in history it was said, ~ The greater the concentration is on sexuality, lesser is the amount of substance.

I probably looked at 10 seconds of the video and just listened. I understand what they're doing with the music. It's ok. Nothing I'd even consider buying but wouldn't change the channel if it came on. But I've never bought a RS release. I do Sympathy for the Devil acoustically. Bands start ripping off their own music as they get aged.

Not sure of the right number of times "angry" should be shouted in that short song, but 25-plus seemed a bit excessive. It is a significant step up from the awful "Livin' in Ghost Town."
Personally I thought Living In A Ghost Town was really good, it just did not sound like 'the Stones' which was fine. Something very eerie about it and the timing of its release was fortuitous as it as written prior to the pandemic.

The split-second shots were also annoying. Agreed.

If you're out of decent new ideas, self-plagiarism just might be your "style" ;)

If rock n roll isn't about sex , I don't what is . Elvis the Pelvis and all that.37361201_1762075357174467_8474798025011625984_n.jpg

RnR has many songs about itself, eg. Chuck Berry, Accadacca.

Drugs, of course, are a staple.

Dancing (does foreplay count as "sex"?), eg, Jo'K, Chubby Checker.

Crime and general outlaw stuff, eg. Accadaccaa, Guns n Roses.

Poverty is popular, and general complaints about our cruel world, eg. lots of blues based music.

There were even a few songs about Lord of the Rings and death for a while, eg. Zep, Doors.

But yeah, most RNR is about sex :)

Did I see Charlie Watts and Bill Wyman in that video?
Yeah, they show up in some of the old footage. Cool that they tipped their hat to their longtime band mates. Just wish they
The most impressive part of that video is that when Sydney is laying on the back of the car, her "assets" somehow managed to remain in place...
oh to be that leather bustier vest, eh?

Charlie Watts plays on the album, according to Variety: "Sweet Sounds Of Heaven” features vocals from Lady Gaga and keyboards and piano from Stevie Wonder, “Bite My Head Off” gets some inimitable bass from Paul McCartney, and “Get Close” and “Live By The Sword” have Elton John on piano.

The Stones’ original rhythm section of bassist Bill Wyman and late drummer Charlie Watts is reunited on “Live By The Sword.” Watts, who died in 2021, is also featured on the song “Mess It Up.”
