Hey there.

I picked up a Sonor Phonic in Oak Veneer 22/12/14/16/18/14 - not Centennial. Have a question on the floor tom legs. The 16 has knurled legs and the 18 is not. Both look period correct. I’m not sure which one is the original or possibly both are. I’m in the process of restoring the kit and need to locate parts.

I was wondering if someone could enlighten me on these.

Thanks

I'm not sure what you mean by knurled legs. Rubber feet with adjustable spurs? As far as I remember, first generation Phonics from '75 on came with small "plasticy" feet. They changed it to bigger and softer rubber feet around the time Sonor was introducing the Sigs and Phonic Plus in the early 80ies.

Thus Phonics definitely came with differen leg designs.

The 16 legs are knurled, textured Half way to the bottom. The 18 is just plain chrome legs, no texture machined on to the legs. (Rod/shaft)

Photos attached.
White bg is for the 18”
Wood bg is the 16”

Thanks
