Yes, thanks, my son's bed is used as a rack, I must find cash and time to order your rack to put them now but I have to find a place where I could put the rack in the music room, my wife wants to rent the room as a week end RB&B so, no way I could use it besides just for the photo. She said I already have e Den for the mixing room and one room in the basement for the pracrice room so... No more spreading instruments everywhere!!!
So, thanks to you and other people on this forum, you helped me a lot for this collection to know what to look for.

Well, not good for the bank account but as soon as you start discussing with Gary at Summit drums, you have to buy some snares from him.
So, I thought I would never buy deep snares and at the end, I got my 15x8 Walnut from him but as you may know, it's also a 15" Tom with a crazy good Tom sound. So, I was thinking to tune it up a bit up but then, I would loose the Tom sound that was so tough to get.
Well, the solution might be to have another deep snare? And he had one in stock, 14X8, Beech / African Mahogany / Beech.
I hesitated but he told me that this one had an exceptional sound so, I could understand why, his Mahogany snares are great and with beech, the two woods configuration should bring a lot to the table, so, I posted a deposit and I just have to pay the balance when my Christmas gift and anniversary cash will come from my Mom within the next few weeks:
below are his pictures:

Well, I did it again!!! I was looking for a good deal on the Tama Starphonic Raw Copper or Aluminium as I have only 2 metal snares...And found this magnifiscent Tama SLP G-Maple Zebrawood Gloss finish!! I wanted a gloss finish on one of my snare but was more thinking about Noble and Cooley or Casks...So, I called the store, Musique gagné, I know them, they have already given me good deal on the Tama Star Reserve Sendan and the Benny Greb brass...So, I asked about the gloss finish and the guy told me it's awesome, so, I bought it...But with what I have saved compared to the Star reserve Brass or Copper that are gone up crazy here, I might be able to score a second snare in fact. I have no 7" deep and no black hardware so, I check two more boxes on my quest"

Nice! Don't worry, you can fit 8 snares on those racks. So buy more! :D

I realized today that, for a guy who was thinking that Metal snares were too pingy/Ringy and thus, would never have any Metal snares, especially because they were not as nice as Wood, I changed a bit...Thanks to Miss heartbeat! It's only 3, soon 5 in a next future but of course, I still think this one from Her is the utmost collection of Metal snares, I think I haven't seen that much on two racks...Well, you were right Heartbeat, I was able to fit 8 per rack and now, I need a second one!!!

To the OP - A beech snare might be right up your alley. I have a Barton 6.5 x 14. With a stock Aquarian reflector head, and it sounds fantastic. I can only imagine the higher end Yamaha and Sonor would sound even better.

I'd entertain a thin metal shelled drum.
Premier 2000 with the slender die casts was one (I had long ago)

Something a strong breeze would elicit a Ring.
I don't like (carrying) heavy metal snare drums.
I have a heavy and never (beside the sound) use .
Something light.
Dunnett snare was light I picked up in a store once. But it was $500 then. Had S hoops 5"

I'm actually considering vintage MIJ (I mean 60s) metal shell snares
That's one hole in my 8 drum snare collection

Something Light. Metal.

I know, that's why I want a Beech form Sonor, Benny Greb v2 snare...Or a Beech form Summit, I have one from him, which is Beech/African Mahogany/ Beech, 14" X 8"and it's awesome!!!
This below:

Well, I have the Dunnett Aluminium modelled 2N and bought it for 990 CAN$ so, 700/750 US$ so, not bad, new, in a store and i have the Benny Greb Brass plus, coming, the Pearl Sensitone raw premium brass with Arch Lug, 14x5, so, that should make it.
I have no copper though, so, thin shell and i have also on its way, a Cast 6mm Bronze from Drumcraft, not here yet, needs to save a bit to pay the balance.

So, what’s the next one?
Well, AVA STABLE STAVE MAHOGANY PURPLE SATIN, 14" X 6.5", you may have seen it on DFO, I bought it from Scotter 540, below are pictures of the website:

Then some from here at home as it arrived today, with another one, SUMMIT SINGLE PLY PURPLEHEART 14" X 6.5", bought form Scooter again:

Heu, really? It's a joke, right? ;):)Ok, I know, my wife is always telling me that I'm naive and that I trust people too much...

Pfuuu, I tuned them today, the cold was not the ideal to keep them in tuned and just discovered, after passing at my store and meeting a new drums associate that, when a lug is lower, you tune up the opposite lug!! Ok, Good to konw, that,s why i had always a hard time to do it and it was taking hours per snare!! Stupid me but the guy when they shows it to you, goes so fast in my store that i was alwasy hesitating, not sure why he was tuning not the one that was lower.

Anyway, they are killer, the Purpleheart has a super crack, even tuned medium at G3 sharp, and the Mahogany stave, tuned at G3...I'm super happy...Still need another Proline rack, Miss heartbeat @heartbeat said it, "you can put 8 per rack so continue to collect!!"
