Show us your Four Piece Kits.

I think that one is Gibralter. I've seen several versions. The kit was kinda of a mess. Bad rewrap. Pearl mounts added. But, a cheap, good sounding vintage Gretsch! Nobody ever noticed on gigs........
Thanks, I will check it out.

From yesterday. It was my first ever "blind gig". I met the guitarist and bassist at the venue for the first time..... then immediately played a 4-hour gig! I didn't know any of the songs so I just went off visual cues and intuition. It went great!

This is my 70s Ludwig Vistalite (Jelly Bean) kit.

Very cool kit!

Was this a beach gig?

I'm a guitar player/singer ( who digs drums) but I've done those 'blind gigs' too, where no one knows, or has played with each other before, but you just NAIL a great show!
(I will say we all usually know the songs, as I have emailed everyone 'my Songlist'

It's exhilarating, as you listen to the music coming out, in the moment, and folks are digging it!

Congratulations on playing that gig off the cuff!

I purchased this earlier this year in May . This is a 50th Anniversary Ludwig Vistalite kit 22/13/16 config. I have long admired Vistalite kits and never owned one . This is my first Vistalite kit .
It is such a unique sound compared to my wood shell and aluminum shell kits . I have been using it for outdoor gigs this past Summer . It projects really well .

Always wanted to try one of those. Had a couple come up local. Been doing a lot of low volume jazz, tho. Wrong choice of weapon for me currently.......

(guitar guy here)
Are Vistalites, by materials/design, a 'high-volume' efficient design, vs. warm? (or whatever you want to call it)

- are there Vistalite snare drums? Thanks!
