show off your snare

Nice Freddy!
I like the 50 pitch rods, just make sure you have a cordless screwdriver with a tension rod bit when you change heads!
And I love the 3.00mm hoops. Perfect compromise between 2.3's and die cast.

6.5x14 solid shell Cherry.
Bought the shell from Drum Foundry and they added the edges, beds and finish. Their work is flawless and the equal of any I have seen.
Precision Drum drilled it and I added ten Beavertail lugs, Taye throw and butt plate, 2.3mm hoops, Ludwig wires and snare side and a coated Ambassador batter. The Taye throw is a simple drop-style design, much like the Noble and Cooley version.
The drum sounds superb and is a nice addition to the family.

My goodness, that's simply beautiful! Maybe elegant is a better descriptor. I've never heard a cherry drum. What kind of tonal characteristics do they have?

Here is my old Tama Rockatsr 14 x 6.5 chrome over steel snare. I cleaned and polished it up over the weekend. Looks pretty good for a 23 year old drum. I also installed a Boom Alley B.A.D. Knocker batter hoop on it.

I've been looking all over for something like that!
Where can I get one?

I picked up a used 14x6 Sonor Prolite (Vintage Thin Maple Shell) in brilliant black for a really nice price. Date stamp is July 2014. Here's some pics so the people at Ludwig can see what a 21st Century throwoff looks like.

Ludwig Standard Maple snare drum.
Aged Chestnut, Alpi engineered wood finish.
6.5x14, 2.3mm hoops, P88 strainer, P32 butt, Ludwig/Remo heads, new 5 ply all maple shell. The shell was a surprise, I thought they were using the 7 ply Classic Maple shell but this is a new shell with a Standard Maple paper label.
The sound is all Ludwig... Crisp, sensitive and a wide tuning range. Very nice.

The snares of "wellington castle" which is merely our home with a big basement. :) Sonor Vintage Series, 14 x 5.75, beech shell, is newest addition. It sounds great with the Brooklyn kit. Looks nice too !
