what do you think would be a "better-than-decent" entry-level digital camera? And by that, I mean the sub $500 range.
Canon is migrating away from DSLR towards mirrorless, so any used DSLR will be lower in price than its mirrorless equivalent.


I see the venerable Canon 5D Mark II body is priced $350–$450. And the 50mm f1.8 STM is going for about $100. Not only would you get decent photos from this setup, but decent video as well.

Bottom row L->R: 7x14 9000/RC Birch (1983), 5.5x14 Club Custom Kapur, 6x12 Musashi Oak, 6.5x13 Musashi Oak, 5.5x14 FRP.

Missing are an SDM5 Steel (1969), a 7x14 Oak Custom, and a 5.5x14 MCA Maple. Oh... and a 6x14 Absolute Hybrid Maple.

Apologies for the crappy cell phone pic. Y'all have much better photo taking skills than I do.

My newest/oldest baby. 1950s Slingerland. Nickel hardware, Duco finish, 7x14. Sounds sweet (what little I've gotten to play it in the apartment).
