Been a couple of years since I last posted a snare pic, and I have acquired a few since. I have some suitably rare and nice-playing snares, but only a few genuinely esoteric ones. I just picked up this 6½x14 Canopus Zelkova... I think it qualifies!

Yes, it is a pretty fabulous snare. I don't know if everyone would find that it's worth the money, but I'm very happy with mine! :)

Great looking drum, I have read up on the construction and the story behind these is very intriguing. The price puts it into a very rare category, not many are able to buy one, but I recall one other member here who had one. He said the snare did not live up to the hype and it sat on his shelf looking good instead of getting played. Your only the second person I have seen who owned one and you tell a different story. I would think these drums would work quite well, the shell shape was something different too.
