Show off your Ludwigs? : )

This is a 1969 Ludwig kit, and the sizes are 22/12/14/16. Just a fantastic sounding kit!

Gorgeous, Sarge!
Love the small bd logo. A little nail polish remover will dissolve that Remo logo.

It's funny you mention that. I have removed Remo logos from coated heads several times using "goof off." If you don't scrub too hard, it doesn't take off the coating.

Except this last time... I had a brand spanking new coated 26" ambassador that it took the coating off as soon as I touched it. WTF? I turned that head into a ported head (cutting the hole where the logo was) and bought this second head for a non-ported version. Now I'm scared to death to try and remove that Remo logo again.

Weird.

I guess it's time to post a few pix in this thread.

The red kit is early 70's, 3 ply 12", 13", 16", 24" & 70's Acrolite.
Cymbals pictured are 70's Zildjian Avedis.

The Silver Sparkle kit is dated January 1968. Shells are 3 ply (I'm guessing mahogany/poplar/mahogany by their sound) 13", 16", 22" & 80's Supraphonic 402.
Cymbals are Paiste Twenty Masters and Dream Bliss Hats.

Thump, you have the nicest kit ive seen on here! Can you get a birds eye at some point?

Thank you sir. I've only had it a month and still catch myself going into my music room just to stare at it. My dream kit for sure. Exactly all of the features I wanted. :)

definitely awesome! I am trying to do the same thing with my 2015 green sparkles.....need another floor tom, and the courage to put a mount on my bass drum. pretty scared about that. would love a canister throne as well, but those are tough to come by. your kit is an inspiration!

Thanks again man! I think i may take off the lug gaskets next. Thats a pretty time consuming process, but really easy.

In looking around on the web, it seems like some (newer?) legacy kits no longer have the lug gaskets. I dont expect it tomake a difference sonically, but it looks prettycool without them. Hmmm.

No gaskets on the Mahogany Legacy drums.
You can spec no gaskets when ordering a kit, CM or Legacy. I recently removed gaskets from my Bronze Supra and it's a big pile of rubber!
