I have no knowledge of that but I just wanted to say you're one blest man to still have your dad's snare drum.so I have been told that Supras were not made before 62....? I have the snare drum from my dads 55 set, which looks exactly like a COB Supra, but again was told it isn't...does anyone know the truth?

It looks like pre serial Super 400 COB. If it has crimped snare beds and the inside shell flange is turned in. It would be that.. Would also be heavier than a Supra.. Baseball Bat muffler? I'd say '61 '62. but I'm no expert.. If you notice on my drums between the '59 and '60 the mufflers are in different positions and the throw offs and butt are in different positions as well. your drum is arranged like the '60.. with a baseball bat instead of a knob.. Having your Dad's drum is way cool!so I have been told that Supras were not made before 62....? I was just a little too late to get my dad's entire kit. My brother sold it to my cousin who also is a drummer and I wasn't a drummer until after it was sold. I would give anything just to get my Dad' snare drum. The heads were calfskins and tacked on to the drums.
