Sealing the insides of shells

It does but would it affect the sound of the drums? I can't see it making too much of an impact.
Well, from the link: "after numerous coats, the finish can even look plastic-like."

I can only assume it'd be something akin to vibra-fibing a drum.

On my 14x16 Premier Signia hanging floor tom I decided to lacquer the inside as it was raw. I was thinking I was being nice to my drum protecting it from the elements. Ok..it dries and I put the drum back together. I hated the results acoustically. Bob Gatzen was right. I'd forgotten his words on doing this procedure but he was right. Lots of sanding taking it back off. I kept thinking to myself....you idiot!.
