If I was gigging with it, I'd agree. But this may never leave my house.I have buyer's remorse for getting the 22" RN2 BD instead of the 18".
They also have a 20x16. That'd probably be my choice.I have buyer's remorse for getting the 22" RN2 BD instead of the 18".
Agreed. The walnut line was a walnut/maple/walnut shell. That finish is the walnut/black fade. Never played a set but they’re supposed to be warmer than the standard renown.I think those are Renown Walnut, which had natural interiors.
Agreed. Just got mine Thur. They sound even better than they look.I had a Renown kit about three years ago. I loved it but... I was moving and stuff had to go.
The finish on my kit was "cherry burst". This was easily the most beautiful finish of any drun set I have ever owned.
Haven't gotten around to it yet. Still playing around.J.D. it doesn't look like you're using any of your memory locks. There's one for the bass drum mount and one each for the rack toms and floor tom legs. Any particular reason you aren't using them?

Love your color btw. (My Rogers are similar, in blue) It was that, CB, or WMP. The WMP's were about $200 more. The black were actually $200+ less. I'm happy with mine. They look much better in person of course.J.D. it doesn't look like you're using any of your memory locks. There's one for the bass drum mount and one each for the rack toms and floor tom legs. I remember seeing a band called the Linxs at a local high society club called The Paddock and the drummer was playing a blue sparkle Gretsch kit with a 22" bass drum. His kit sounded phhhhenominal. It was the first time I said to myself that Gretsch is seriously happening.I have buyer's remorse for getting the 22" RN2 BD instead of the 18".
TY! TN dude makes some pretty cool custom drums. Mostly known for a "Carroll Shelby" kit he did. This is maple, 5" x 14", and I traded a 1960's Rogers Dynastic COB for it.I dig the wrap on that snare drum!
I've had and played on a lot of kits, including the DWS in my avi. But when I started playing these WMP Renowns at a church, I thought: "I LIKE this sound". So I ordered some. Course, they also have some Ludwig Classic Maples, and I like them a lot too, but after a few weird hardware issues I ruled them out.I remember seeing a band called the Linxs at a local high society club called The Paddock and the drummer was playing a blue sparkle Gretsch kit with a 22" bass drum. Thanks. I was thinking WMP when I bought my kit but the SOP shell pack came with the snare for just $200 CDN ($150 USD) more. I had heard great things about the snare so I went for it.
