Hello all.
I am relatively new to the life of a drum set owner, but I have always wanted a set of my own, since I was 9 or 10 years old. The first musical thing I ever wanted.
The school band manager said, "all the kids want to be the drummer" and gave me a trombone... This indirectly led to me being a bass player, which I did for years, recording, touring, etc. in a small way. I still play and enjoy bass, but I always wanted a drum set. but usually lacked the space and money needed.

A random thrift store find of a Sonor Force 2003 bass drum with some old, almost matching Tama toms struck a nerve, and I decided to piece together a cost-effective kit, slowly... part of the goal being to get stuff that was functional (or could be made same), but not junk, as inexpensively as possible. Likely, cheaper stuff, but, not junk.
I'm almost done...for now, thanks to patience, good timing and great luck.

This forum and Drummerworld at large have been very helpful. Thanks, all.

I am practicing rudiments, and playing along with music and watching youtube vids (big Rob Brown fan), and loving every minute.

I'm looking forward to learning as much as I can.
