PROPERTY FROM THE ESTATE OF WALTER BECKER (STEELY DAN)

People are bidding a lot. It's always uncomfortable for me to see items sell for more than market value due to the previous owner...
Oh well, I'll just never own nostalgia.

Quite honestly, I hope that his estate doesn't get a single cent after the crap they pulled on Don.

WB was a fantastic musician and wonderful person, and I am greatly saddened to see his legacy tarnished by the grubbers fighting for his blood money.
The reality though is that since he was a paid musician, these instruments were probably all "business items" and to resolve the business this type of thing has to happen. It's not like he was just a collector and this was his estate. This is all stuff with tax implications.

Note also that winning bidders pay a 25% Buyer's Premium! But on amounts over $200,000, it's only 20% :)

So if that Brady snare goes for $1,000, it will actually cost $1,250. There's also sales tax (not sure if that's on top of the 25%...)

But that's how Julien's works, it was the same with Ringo's stuff a few years ago.
