Profile of the Drummer

Re: Profile of the Drummer.

Thanks, colleague.

I like that, your way to pick up the drummer to read. By the way, I read Adam Cruz . It's quite interesting to get familiar with each drummer and also to increase your level of knowledge.

Now I am going to read: Kenny Clarke.

Today its Derico Watson -->http://www.drummerworld.com/drummers/Derico_Watson.html

Quote from his bio: "I always liked to play to my grandmother's records using Quaker Oats boxes, coffee cans, you name it. I was told then that I had a natural talent gift from God." Very familiar story for many of us.

He also plays with the Victor Wooten Band. Thats cool.

And of course, Bernhard has a picture with him too... lol.

Today's profile is: Carmine Appice.

http://drummerworld.com/drummers/Carmine_Appice.html

Such versatility stems from Carmine having been influenced by the jazz drumming of Buddy Rich and Gene Krupa, combined with extensive classical training..

See pictures of Carmine and Bernhard, shaking hands + more.

Carmine....is Carmine!!! one of my major influences.

Best Regards,

Thats why I make it a point to close my eyes and pick a drummers profile to read everyday. Not just read it but watch the vids, listen to samples and immerse myself in thier world. I learn so much and find new inspiration each time. You should try it.

Carmine has always been one of my hero's, Love that guy.

Animal / Ronnie Verrel.

Animal is performed and voiced by Frank Oz while his drumming is performed by Ronnie Verrell.

Fans of The Who's drummer Keith Moon claim that the character of Animal was based on Moon, who was known for his wild antics. However, there is no evidence in the original sketches for the character that suggest that he was based on anybody in particular.

Click the video: Animal (Ronnie Verrel) - Drum Battle with Buddy Rich.

Today: Vinny Appice.

Excellent videos, bass drum triplets, click on them.

I love watching Vinnie battle his brother. So much love in the room.

Todays drummer is Al Jackson ----> http://www.drummerworld.com/drummers/Al_Jackson.html

"Al Jackson, Jr. was the excellent drummer who kept Booker T. & the MG's in line, both on their own recordings as well as on dozens of sessions for artists contracted to Hi and Stax Records. Booker T. & the MG's, arguably the best house band in history."
