I do not know what new gear they will be unveiling.
The event will be in Nashville Tennessee, May 25.
What is my interest in Pearl? I own two different size, economy class, steel snare drums from Pearl.

I could not find any news releases, but these two clips showed up today. They talk about new Pearl products. I do not know for certain if these are the products that they were planning to announce on May 25, 2023.

Pearl Reference One Drum Set
Pearl DEMON XR Pedal

Looks like in their price points - "feeling a little heat" from Renown/Brooklyn
(all the attention those 2 are getting been getting) Pearl's older lines losing appeal to the now slightly older maturing drummist.
They still have the Cat Hair in a Vacuum Cleaner finish tho right?
O that's the "Cain & Abel". Gone.

Seems there is now only one Reference line (no more Reference or Reference Pure), Masters Maple Complete and Master Maple Reserve just seem to have been given a new name (Masters Maple and Masters Maple Pure) but after checking the site bigger toms are back: i spot 14, 15 and 16" toms as options for all three Masters lines (meaning 14x12, 15x13 and 16x14 toms are an option again) and i like that! Masters Maple Gum is labeled as new, but that one has been around for quite some time too.

I don't get the Professional line though. Same shell as the Masters Maple line and 45" bearing edges, but different hoops and mounting system.

Not sure what to think of the new R2 Air mounts though...

The new, thick-shelled Masters are quite expensive! Good news is that the MMC is still available as the Professional.
Would love to see if they went back to the 'older' Masters series: maple, birch and mahogany sets.
I believe that the "mahogany is expensive" stereotype is partly due to the availability and production scale. If Ludwig is able to make both Legacies at the same price (with domestic maple), I fail to see why Pearl can't.

you have it a little mixed up.. There is no Masters Complete.. or are you seeing it somewhere I am not ??

The new Pearl Professional is the old Complete with Session lugs.... Masters Maple is NOT the older Complete shell but it IS the older Masters Extra/MRX 7.5mm shell that sounds incredible.

Holy price increases Batman!

I just had a look at the Sweetwater site. They don't have everything listed but what they do have, wow. The Masters line looks to now be hovering around the $1000 (and more) per drum area.

Even prices on the old (now defunct) Masters Maple Complete are up around $700 a drum.

No mention of the Professional Series. They may be trying to move the MMC stock first. I wonder if we'll see some blow out prices there in a couple of months.

What are they supposed to charge ??.. That is for a premium lacquered drum with die cast.. top level components etc.. . The USA companies charge around 1k per drum for plastic wrapped and I would easily wager not at the level of Pearl QC based on my experience. . The USA lacquered equivalent of the Pearl are much more expensive.

Relax. I was just making an observation.

I bought a Masters kit (lacquered) a year ago for around $500 per drum. The same kit today is roughly $700 a drum. That's a 40% increase. That's not one of the new lines, that is the tried and true Masters Maple Complete.

Actually, I just looked, the same kit I bought at $500 per drum a year ago is now listed on Sweetwater's site for $850 per drum.

The prices for the new Masters that I see out there, points to the idea that Pearl is realigning there product offering for a different buyer. That is fine They can do what they like. Again just an observation.

I am plenty relaxed.. we are just having a discussion.. this is a discussion board..

Pearl has always marketed to MANY different buyers , but those are not even the prices you would pay..... those are all MAP pricing.
