Older players - gear and other changes you've made?

Started playing four and five piece kits about a dozen years ago. Still large drums, just a lot fewer of them.
Got a couple of Rock N Roller Multi-Carts.
Ford Smart Ass Memory Foam throne.
But the biggest change was going from the heaviest duty hardware imaginable to medium duty snare stands and hi-hat stands as well as DW 6000 series cymbal stands.

I also went to less cymbals: hats, one crash, and a crash-ride. Peace and goodwill.

Over the last couple of years I've leaned into simplifying my setup, making it more comfortable and easy to play. I stopped thinking about finding a magic set with some mystical mojo and purchased a DW Performance set that meets all my needs. I've changed my throne to a Roc n Soc w a backrest (shoulda made that move a long time ago). I've also sold off drums and hardware that I didn't use.

I am 61 - changed my set up to primarily a 20/12/14 with atypically a 5 x 14 snare for the majority of my gigs . I switched out my hardware to Tama Classic Series or Yamaha Crosstown (for outdoor gigs- better than the Tama in the wind ). I have also reduce the number of cymbals ( along with hihats ) to two or three max these days .
I just ordered a Roland TM-6 Pro to start triggering my kit at gigs . This is very new for me as the closest I had got to this level prior was a Yamaha EAD 10 or Roland TM-2 neither of which thrilled me . The TM-6 Pro looks like it will suit my purposes better .
I have also recently picked up a Yamaha DTX Multi 12 which will be ideal for percussion , starting and stopping loops and some effect sounds .

I have as you can see above started to embrace electronics and move from my strictly acoustic past . Competition for gigs in my town is getting fierce and if I can get my kit to sound more like the sounds on the records we play , the better for us to be more popular .View attachment 133227View attachment 133228
Love both sets! I think I recognize the street view...Is that La Gabbia???

After the recent post of a fellow DWorld member tearing a rotator cuff, I'm more conscious about lifting my heavy hardware bag into the trunk.
Instead of jerking to lift it I slowly lift. And try to get help with it if someone is close.
