All in mint condition. I kept the box tops and sides for paint/scheme reference since I flew into Vegas and had no room in my luggage for 3 large boxes.

I packed my carry on with the sprue parts enwrapped in my clothes to protect them and I was afraid that when the luggage went through the X-Ray machine at the airport that It might look like some fierce sprue explosive device, but it went through just fine!

My wife goes "Good job honey!"

The model boxes were much bigger than the actual models, so this worked out perfect.

I also found a mint MPC 1/24 scale Spitfire Mk.1a that I'm having shipped to me. Price? $29.00 with shipping!

My first impulse was to just buy it and stuff it in the suitcase with the other three, but I'm glad I didn't. There is no way in Hell I could have got it in the luggage comfortably with 3 1/32-35 models!

We all have our fun dude, personally my girl and I like to drink, play games and see live music all on the cheap so we stayed at Circus Circus a few months ago for her B-day. We had a great time about the resort on the cheap-cheap with the wonderful coupon book they gave us. I wore the T-shirt I bought to my gig tonight. I think I'll spend the money I made at this gig on her this coming weekend. I'm really not into modeling and it wasn't enough for a new Supra...

BTW, I played that whole gig the correct way: with Trad grip :-D

Check out the group in my signature. Us Trad drummers have a lot to talk about.

Not a gambler myself, to me makes no sense but to others that's what they enjoy and I say have fun if that's what you enjoy.

BTW you might want to watch the language, not called for and there are kids on this forum. That's a quick ticket to getting banned. Just an FYI

Yeah, music like that is not much in demand up here anymore, wish it was, so fun for the ego, rock god stuff.
As for the wife, nothing wrong with that. I recently attended a benefit conference in Vancouver. A 62 year old from the U.S. mid west named Noel Catwell gave a memorable keynote speech on our economic future. It was optimistic in this world of doom and gloom. Two main themes, The size of the baby boomer generation in the work force (born prior to 63-65) and the up and coming generation. It is 4 to 1, meaning two things. The next generation because of the labour shortage will be the highest paid, and the baby boomers will be able to work well past retirement because there will not be enough workers to replace the exodus of skilled retirees.

Second topic, Average American baby boomer owns 2.2 houses and has accumulated wealth, the next generation stands to inherit it all.

Nice that you have a fun hobby like collecting models.... Thought the downing on people who enjoy gambling was a bit over the top..... A big part of my living comes from playing cards.... Sure I see a lot of degenerates at the casino where I spend at least 40 hours a week, but I feel sorry for them because I know how slippery the slope can be... To each their own though.... No need to be so judgmental... just showing your nice finds would have been just a effective without the bashing of a certain demographic.... There are plenty of places with casinos besides vegas :)

I deal poker 2 days a week, play poker 3-4 days a week except when traveling to play in poker tournament series... Luckily almost every poker room nowadays is smoke free and enclosed away from the smoke... do you play mainly smoke free rooms when you gig?

Yes. I'm very fortunate. I play Hard Rock Cafe's and corporate parties where no smoking is allowed. Casino ballrooms with no smoking polices. I also play outside concerts, festivals, and some all-age venues where no smoking is allowed. I don't play smokey clubs or bars anymore. I refuse to inhale second hand smoke and hated the smell in my hair and clothing when I used to play them.

I don't understand the original post. Was there someone specific that gambled away their lives?

Glad to know that i am not the only guy who tries to lead a quiet and fairly ordinary life away from the bandstand as opposed to the image of the rockstar who parties endlessly.

Canada is totally smoke free to the point of fascism, and it is nice for us non smakers, but on the other hand, it was also partly to blame for the downhill slide of the bars, now I hardly have any place to gig. Not condoning smoking or drinking and driving, but it used to be alot easier to go out drinking, and the gigs used to be plentiful. Now most bars fail and can't even hire a band one night a week, let alone 5 or 6 which used to be the norm.

Keep harping on the evil casino and the loser gamblers and maybe in a couple years you wont have to worry about it anymore either.
