NEW Craviotto Drums! Unboxing and Demo Video!

John DeChristopher

Drums Ambassador
This happened this week. My first NEW drum set in almost 50 years. I've been on a vintage kick for 20 years and love all my vintage drum sets, but I've often said if I were to buy new drums, it would be these. And I'm so glad I did. I just wish I had done it when Johnny was still alive, but better late than never. It was 50 years ago this week my Dad and I ordered my first Gretsch set, and I haven't been this excited about drums since my first Gretsch set 50 years ago.

Beautiful drums, but the way you handled and stacked them, while talking so enthusiastically about them, made me a little nervous. I was on edge praying you didn't drop one or knock one over... gotta admit, I was sweating a bit.

Congratulations of the Cravs. When I was talking with Johnny at NAMM in 2007, he tried to get me into a set of his drums. I had to explain I was with DW, but thank you anyway. He was a nice guy who left us too soon.

Well ol JohnnyD disproves one old theory.

" You can have them all!"

😁

Thanks everyone! Like I said, I haven't felt this excited about drums in 50 years!

Sorry I made you nervous... looking back, it was pretty stupid to stack them like that. I promise it won't happen again :giggle:

Thanks. That was the beautiful thing about Johnny... He didn't get sucked into the drum biz nonsense like I did 🤣 He just wanted people to be happy and enjoy his drums.
Absolutely smashing @John DeChristopher ! Congratulations on a beyond stunning set of tubs! :D (y)

PS. When are you going to ship those cool T’s to the UK?!:)
Al, email me your address and size and I'll see what the shipping cost is. We can take the conversation there. [email protected].

Yes, I do have a Hayman set. It's in my other room, which is why you don't see it on the podcast.
18 sets including three MIJ and a Kent, two of which I'll be releasing into the wild eventually...

I also have this Ajax kit, which is pretty rare and in excellent condition.

John, I want that Ajax set someday! I see you have the single knuckle-buster tom holder on the Haymans.

When I watched the unboxing video, the vibe and the feeling in the clip reminded me of that Old Milwaukee beer commercial.
"It Doesn't Get Any Better Than This".

Congratulations to your Craviotto drums. A dream ...

But if it's going to be a rough night out there, I'd prefer the Hayman any day. Rumbling and no regrets.
(Looking a bit closer, your Hayman is in much better condition than mine. So, some regrets possible in this case.)

Fantastic, how you are still upgrading your drummers wonderland basement.
