Must See Film About Music

I want to share with you guys the documentary Heavy Metal in Baghdad.

I saw this documentary a good while ago, but it's been stuck in my head ever since and I just need to show it some praise and get the word out about this wonderful film.

The film follows an Iraqi heavy metal band Acrassicauda from before and during the US war. But for those who aren't fans of metal, I implore you to take a look at the film anyway, because it's really not about metal. No, it's about a group of musicians doing what they love in a place and time that isn't friendly to their music and the message they're trying to spread. It's about freedom and freedom of speech and how they're taken for granted by those who have it. It's an incredible film that I can't recommend enough, it just needs to be seen, especially by musicians such as ourselves.

I've watched this movie, and you are right. I thought it was sobering in the fact that we take for granted what these musicians fight for every day. Not just a documentary about music, but the enduring spirit of musicians and human beings.

I'm with CreeplyTuna, a must see for everyone, not just musicians.
