Metronome app for song count-ins?

I'm trying to find a metronome app (for Android) to be used only for song count-ins. I've downloaded several apps so far, but they are missing the option to only play a specific number of clicks. Ideally, I want to be able to have a playlist of tempos that will give me an 8-count, then turn off. Any suggestions?

I know this is not overly helpful but the tama metronome is the only metronome that I’m aware does this. It’s the larger black one, maybe called the rhythm watch, I learned this from their YouTube demonstration.

I have used a metronome app live on occasion and it is very easy to reach over and turn the click off when desired, but I can imagine that would get old if I was using it to count in every song.

I use the pro metronome app. With one band I just look at it to start the song off at the right tempo, and keep the volume down. With my other band I run it in my ears. So you might try just watching it to get the right tempo instead of just counting it in and then stopping.

Songbook pro has a metronome. It can be set to 10 sec and then turns off. As a bonus it is about $8 and will display lyrics, have set lists etc. I use this app for all my gigs.

It is available for Android, IOS, Windows.

Edit: I have used Soundbrenner in the past and I just checked, it does have a one, two or three bar count in.

In my last gig I'd use a metronome in every song. Sometimes I'd just let it run through the whole song, but if I wavered I'd just reach over and turn it off.

So, in my opinion, I'd just look for a metronome that had a big "off" button instead of worrying about one that would only play a set number of clicks.

I suppose you could make a playlist of mp3's with a recording of a click with as many/few clicks as you want.
I think an app like Soundbrenner would be easier. It allows as many beats before shutting off and you can build a library and playlist of songs to pull from.

As I mentioned earlier, Songbook pro will also play a metronome for either 10 seconds or until shut off manually. It also provides for set lists and a library of songs. The difference is it is made to display the lyrics and chords which can be loaded from three different sources, including Ultmate Guitar. It will also allow you to add notes for each song.

If all you want or need is a count in, then Soundbrenner is the best choice.

Mertronomous is Free I think you can do that with that, I am pretty sure you can select how long it plays and or how many measures.

Tempo does this with ease. Any time signature with count-in, then tell it when you want it to stop. On top of all the other functionality of course. The only app I have used for gigs for the past 15 years (oh, and Tempo Advance).

+1 for Tempo. I've tried several different popular metronome apps. I like Tempo the most by far. It is easy to use and allows me to easily create and edit set lists to use for gigging.
