If you had one, would you consider swapping a Mapex Meridian Birch with 22x16 kick and 10/12/14/16 toms for a Gretsch Catalina Rock 26x16 kick with 13/16/18 toms?
Has anyone got experience of both kits? I'm playing in a rock/pop covers band and also a band that has country/folk influences. But I want a bass drum that’s going to be heard more if the mic isnt loud enough through the PA. I hit the bass drum hard when I need to, so its not like Im tapping it
I love the diversity of the Mapex Meridian but I despise that they have not got 8" toms readily available nor 13 and 18" toms. Would Gretsch be any easier in terms of getting drums if Im in the UK?
