I was going to ask the same to Polly! I know Aynsley Dunbar drumming on Coverdale's Whitesnake...flashy amazingly!
Are you sure about that?
The first album from 1977 "Whitesnake" feature Simon Phillips on drums...
Aynsley Dunbar played on the 1987 self titled Whitesnake album, along with John Sykes and Neil Murray. All were let go prior to the albums release. :)
Thanks Bull, I didn't know (obviously), but considering how old's Polly's cover, I thought Ian Williams was talking about the first LP by Coverdale :) But it was with Whitesnake's Whitesnake, lol. Also around the mid 80's I moved away from rock a bit, the latest album from Whitesnake I bought was Slide It In with Cozy Powell in 1984 :)

Sorry Ian, my bad, but I'm sure you understand the (internet) confusion :))

Here's the version we did the week before (15 Mar) with some vocal effects - maybe not the right effect, but better than dry: http://youtu.be/_-OO-pizcJ0
Oh yeah! Now that was a sweet version. Exactly what I was talking about. Thanks for sharing. Now I have to go listen to it again....
Mmmm.. sorry, I prefer Glenn's vocal on the OP version, it's not a question of effect as such, it's the aaaah, ahaaa at the end, much better in the latest (most recent) version :)

Also I think Glenn's got a good voice and doesn't need that much effect on the mix :)

I don't think it's a matter of need. But adding some echo makes it sound more psychedelic. IMHO

Fun to have opposite feedback.

It's hard to compare - the 15 March version was the first time we did the "ahhhh ahhhhs" at the end ... my comment on the band website was, "The ending wailing part is still be be resolved, yes?" :) Drumming was messier too.

Henri, I agree that Glenn's vocs sound good dry but, like MZ, I'd like some kind of vocs effect in this tune. Importantly, so does Glenn :) The doubling isn't the right effect, though IMO ... maybe reverb with phase or flange?

To save confusion,
