Looks like I need a new drum hauler.

I didn’t intend to get the same vehicle as a replacement, but it just worked out that way. We were looking at either a used Ford Edge, or a Toyota RAV4. We found a good deal on a 22 Edge. I wanted a RAV4 hybrid for the gas mileage, but after some calculations, it would take 10 years for the gas savings to make up the difference in price. So now I’m back to driving a silver Ford Edge. The neighbors won’t be able to tell the difference. I’m not sure what I think about all the touch screens inside. It’s like driving an iPad. We had enough money in savings to make a big down payment, and we will reimburse ourselves when the insurance settlement arrives. The previous Edge was 9 years old. We could have bought something similar without much extra money, but then we are back to having an older car. We took the opportunity to upgrade.

new cars are definitely like driving an ipad!!! I don't have any of that stuff hooked up in my truck because I need to be looking at the road while driving, not the ipad....

I got the new Ford Edge about 6 weeks ago. I got out of the vehicle last Friday and the drivers side door started coming off the hinges. I had to lift the door to close it. I took it to the dealer since it’s still under warranty and found out it was in some kind of accident and the door had been replaced. It had a clean Carfax report. This voided the factory warranty. I took it to the dealer whom we bought from and after a couple days they said they had multiple people look at it and the vehicle is nonrepairable. We’re going into the dealer on Monday when their business office opens to get our Money back. We have to wait for the check from the dealer to clear and then go pay off the loan from the bank before we can get another car. Now I have to start car shopping again and my wife is leaving for a week long trip. I won’t be able to get anything for a couple of weeks.

Misrepresentation and fraud are the two words that spring immediately to mind.

Wow! No words! Wishing you the best as you get this all sorted out. 😣

Just do it, and shrug your shoulders when they ask to use it to move whatever they need to move. There’s a place pragmatism, and a minivan fills it.

make sure you go to a different dealer....sounds like things were being hidden at some point...

While I really liked both Fords, I wanted something with a little better gas mileage. We now have a 2020 Toyota RAV4. It’s a little different than the Edge. The Edge was bigger and heavier so it had a smoother quieter ride. The RAV4 is a little smaller and isn’t as quiet or smooth but gets about 10mpg better. We also decided to go a little older and were able to pay cash. My wife’s car is getting older and we were going to replace it first but the accident changed those plans. There are things I preferred about the Edge and things I prefer about the RAV4. My drums fit. I just have to load them a bit differently.

the RAV4 will last you for 10+ years if you treat it right!

I'd love me a minivan. All I get is eyerolls from people in my house when I say this. Lol
