In the end, I did both. Got the Tama S.L.P. G-Maple and ordered the Dunnett brass. I am glad I got the S.L.P., it sounds great.
Still waiting on the Dunnett. Was told 3 weeks to finish when I ordered in early October. I know Dunnett is notoriously unpredictable, so hopefully it will get here soon. I had a DW Design series black nickel over brass and it was great, which I took back to get the Dunnett. Jonesing hard for a brass snare.
