Living Colour - what else is out there

The rock-funk style of Living Colour have caught my attention. In particular I like the peppery bass drum playing - perfect placement.
Any recommendation for bands playing a similar style?

All GREAT examples.

This is a little less cool, but the drumming is awesome, check out the Spin Doctors. It's way more poppy, but the musicianship is pretty good.

Sublime will fill your off the track, rock heavy bass needs. Singer is killer and feel of the whole Detox album is awesome.

24-7 Spyz! My favorite for sure.

There are two line-ups in the 90's. Both are great but I enjoy Jeff the 2nd vocalist and Anthony the 1st drummer more. I saw both versions live back in the day and was honored to jam with Jeff recently.

There is also Follow For Now. I was honored enough to play with their guitarist Chris for years in ATL in his band. I consider him a good friend. I also played with their keyboardist in an improv band. The main guy is David Ryan Harris who is playing guitar for John Mayer last I heard.

Unfortunately the album does not do them justice. That is a long story, but the producer pretty much screwed them .

Here is another song that wasn't put on the FFN album, but was a staple in their live set. David recorded it for his solo album. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4a_ZEpZYe8c FFN toured with 24-7 , Living Colour and Pearl Jam.

Enjoy!

As I like them too, maybe try some Funkadelic and or Parliament if you haven't already.
And perhaps (being Dutch) Urban Dance Squad.

All very good suggestions. I love follow for now... But the logical choice here:

KING'S X

Heck the singer of KX even toured in living colour when Corey had obligations on Broadway's few years back
