This week the Drummer's Weekly Groovecast is incredibly excited to bring you an interview with Lil' John Roberts. For those of you familiar with his work you'll know that he's been Janet Jackson's (Miss Jackson if you're nasty) drummer for the past 20 years. Aside from Jackson he's worked with Stevie Wonder, George Duke, Ricky Minor, Herbie Hancock, and Neyo to name but a few. In this week's podcast John is incredibly honest about what it takes to build a successful career in the music business. He describes growing up in a musical family and how it shaped his life ultimately leading to a full scholarship at the Berklee College of Music. After staying in Boston one year after leaving Berklee John found his way to Atlanta which propelled his professional career to new heights. Lil' John, Jon, and myself had a great time during this conversation and we sincerely hope that you enjoy it as much as we did. You can hear a new episode every Monday. We're available on Itunes, Google Play Podcasts, Stitcher, Podbean, and all of your favorite podcast apps!
