Let's see your POV/ Driver's seat pics

"I can taste the Bubbly from here ummm..."
wow what a mic!
Yeah Joe, that 414 is one of the best music investments I’ve ever made. Got it 5 or 6 years ago when Sweetwater was running one of their 4 year/same as cash things. Took me a couple years to pay it off but it’s paid for itself many times over since then.

Drum room POV pic. Just got my new to me congas set up. I have easy access to them or my practice rig. Gotta be quiet here, hence the pads/low volume cymbal set up. Cases, bags, plants and a cat perch fill up the rest of the room.

Got a decent pregame POV pic from the gig tonight. Glad the outside gig was tonight (at 96 degrees F) as tomorrow is gonna be 109F in Bakersfield. 🥵

This is probably my favorite configuration, which oddly enough I rarely take out. 12-16-22, all in traditional depths, with a 5.5” snare. Cymbals are 602s - 15” SE Hats, 22” Thin Flat Ride and 20” Thin Crash.

This is the driver seat view of the quiet acoustic study workstation that I spend most of my drumming time. Here are the different pieces:

Sabian Quiet Tone 14" Practice Pad
Vater Chop Builder 12" Double Sided Practice Pad
Drum Factory Direct 8" Double Sided Practice Pad
Tama True Touch Training Solid Kick Pad
Tama RW30 Drummer's Metronome
Pearl P530 Bass Drum Pedal Double Chain

Nothing major, just two new cymbals: 18" Paiste Alpha Thin Crash instead of the 17"(*), 18" Paiste PSTX Swiss Thin Crash instead of the 16"(**):

Oh, and I've been able to move the 16" floor tom closer by inverting its leg.

(*) I own a 18" 2002 Thin Crash, but for some reason the Alpha simply fits better.
(**) I tried both and went with the 16" at first, but that turned out to lack a bit of volume. The 18" does not, it just has way too much sustain. 😲 It's the first time I had to dampen a cymbal.

Light Turks are

So Latin Airto samba- like

21" Thin Ride Flat Turk have high hopes for took a month to understand- and play--

BospherusTurkata 014.JPG

20" Thin Ride Turk (left) I bought new from a dealer (Cymbalhouse kentucky) got it about figured out
and a 19" Paper Thin Crash (inked) (it's a ride) next to it got from private seller on Reverb was instantly understood

keep the astoundingly good 14" traditional Dark (inked) Hi Hats
and I dunno
sometimes (like every time) when I go and get behind all my older 60s and early 70s stuff I think
"wth did I get into"

POV from the gig tonight. It’s a larger venue so I went with my 24” bass drum again. Since I’m running that drum with a full resonant head, I mic it from the batter side. This pic shows that mic placement well. My 13” mounted tom also made a rare appearance.

Rounding out things are my 602s - 15” SE hats, 22” Thin Flat and 18” Thin Crash. The coated Ambassadors rang like church bells on this stage. Had to knock some of that sustain back once the music got rolling. It’s taken a lifetime of trial and error, but I’m finally at a point where I’m truly happy with my gear.

Motion Pro. It’s an MVP piece of equipment for me. I’ve had mine for about 10 years now and won’t use anything else. I keep a second one at home for my practice rig/back up.

Another POV of the same crapola I always post. The latest additions are the coated Ambs and the Flex Frame on the mounted tom. I think I’ve finally got all the components of my rig dialed in. Took long enough.💩

Tama silverstar mini kit. I've had a lot of fun kitting it out and adding the extras you see here. I even replaced my original Tama throne with a Roc-n-soc. Shells are all Tama, cymbals from Zildjian, Wuhan & Paiste, hardware is mostly Tama, a few Yamaha pieces. Just recently started playing and its a struggle atm.

Subbed for a friend’s cover band last night. Broke my ‘No Outdoor Gigs In Summer’ rule. Sweated off twenty pounds. 3 hours of playing the hits. Enthusiastic crowd. Brought the ‘64 Ludwigs out, and some of my favorite Paistes. 14” Signature dark crisp hats, 17” Signature mellow crash, 24” Giant Beat, 22” Masters Swish.
